3D prints will need supports, these are structures attached to the model to help “support” any parts of the model that would otherwise fail or fall off during printing. If we need to support the model we’ll add this in the quote and itemize it based on the estimated time required to apply supports that will ensure a successful and clean print.

If your model is already supported we will make note of this and add a notation to the quote that the model came pre-supported.

All of our prints are currently done on an Elegoo Saturn model Resin 3D printer.

3D Prints must fit within the following dimensions:
192mm x 120mm x 200 mm

Models larger then this will require either being downscaled or sliced into multiple pieces depending on your requirements for the print. If you need assistance in slicing a model, please ask and we can work with you on a fair price for us to do that.

There are many types and brands of Resin available with a variety of colors and translucency options. They can have various properties associated with each type depending on your needs, should you want the most detail or something with a little flex to it. We will ask you about your preference of resin and provide a range of colors and options currently such as (Grey, Red, Blue, Green, Clear, White, Black). Please note some specialty resin will cost considerably more then standard resin and will be reflected in the price.

Our standard resin is a “Grey Water Washable Resin” that lets us easily see any defects before, during and after a print and is typically all that is needed so if no preference is given this will be the type we will use.

We will clean and cure your prints once off the print bed where we will ensure it is appropriate quality and there are no major flaws. Keep in mind that during printing some layer lines might be more visible then others and area’s where supports were attached will likely show as such.

Depending on your needs, that might just be suitable and generally it is what everyone expects from a 3D print. Should you require additional clean-up or repair such as gap filling, or even sanding/priming let us know ! We can’t guarantee we can provided this service to all prints, but a majority of them we can apply gap filler, sand visible area’s and generally prep the model for painting when it leaves our shop. If requested we’ll add this to the quote and is something we do already for a select few of our own 3D prints we sell. (such as the Axolotl Dice Jail)

While resin printers are known for being faster then FDM, they still take some time, usually several hours to complete the print. Two factors effect this time. The Vertical size of your model and the “Layer Height”.

Layer Height is the Z axis or height resolution of the print, the smaller this value is the more detail can be pulled out and preserved in a print. Currently you can have a layer height from 0.01mm - 0.05mm with increments of 0.01mm between both values. We will work with you and suggest the appropriate layer height for your given needs if you are unsure.

The height or vertical size of your model plays a huge part in time and cost of printing a model. The shorter the model is, the faster and cheaper it can be to print. We have found at a standard size of 10mm x 10mm cube at 0.05mm, will take roughly under 1 hour to print. While that same cube at the highest resolution (0.01mm) will take 3 1/2 hours to print.

Currently our printer costs $15.00 an hour to run for printing, but we can and often do adjust this pricing on what and how many things we are printing. We do community sharing where if we have several orders for small prints all using the same resin, or if we require printing products ourselves, we’ll slip your print onto the build plate at a discount to everyone. We will tell you if we can do this for your prints and the cost per hour can change, but should you have a single large print you can expect that price, per hour based on the estimated time to complete the print.

When we give you a quote, we will estimate the resin cost for the part. If we have ways to save resin and in return save you money we will make a notation with a suggestion how we can go about that. Such as larger models or certain parts being hollow instead of solid can greatly reduce the cost.

Please keep in mind if you request a specialty resin be used (such as a wax based/flexible resin). There may be additional costs associated with them.
